About WorkHoursLab

WorkHoursLab makes everyday work-time and gross-pay arithmetic fast, clear, and accessible without an account.

Why WorkHoursLab exists

Work-time arithmetic is simple until a shift crosses midnight, a lunch must be deducted, or clock notation is confused with decimal hours. WorkHoursLab provides focused tools that make those steps visible instead of hiding them behind one unexplained number.

Our calculation method

Elapsed time is represented in whole minutes wherever practical. Breaks are subtracted in minutes, totals are added in minutes, and decimal hours are calculated only for display. Calculator functions are deterministic and tested for ordinary, boundary, invalid-input, and overnight cases.

How content is prepared

Explanations are written for the specific task on each page, and worked examples follow the same formulas as the tool. Where employment rules may matter, the content identifies what the calculator cannot decide. We do not publish paid rankings or disguise advertising as calculator controls.

Privacy and independence

Core calculations run locally without a calculation API call. WorkHoursLab requires no names, employee IDs, or account. Read the Privacy Policy for details.

Corrections and feedback

If something appears wrong, send a reproducible example without private payroll data through Contact and corrections. Start with the Time Card Calculator or read the work-hours method.
